Lip Enhancement

Lip Enhancement

At GD Aesthetics our dermal fillers are always expertly applied, always by an experienced, responsible practitioner.

For lips with balance, definition and volume

Lips are a focal point of the face, providing balance and composition to the surrounding features, so it's only natural that we would want them to have the desired volume, shape, symmetry and definition. If you are unhappy with the way your lips look - perhaps they are thinner than you would like, you would like to enhance your cupids bow, or those perioral lines make you seem older than you really are, we can help.

Lip fillers are one of our most popular treatments here at GD Aesthetics, applied professionally by a skilled practitioner who has listened carefully to what you want, redefine your lips in a way that looks totally natural. Looking to restore balance to your facial features, overcome the ageing effect of fine lines or achieve a look that's utterly Instragrammable? Whatever your aims, at GD Aesthetics we're passionate about giving you the opportunity to realise them.

What's in our lip fillers?

Our dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, carefully formulated to integrate with your lip tissue in order to provide the smooth, natural-looking level of enhancement our patients require.

We offer fillers in volumes of 0.55, 0.7, and 1ml - but don't worry, you're not expected to know what you need yet. We'll establish your requirements during the consultation. This will be your opportunity to tell us about yourself and let us know the results you would like. In turn, we'll give you comprehensive information about the procedure and ensure that your expectations are realistic.

Any side effects?

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. We must stress how important it is to ensure your practitioner is suitably qualified and experienced, as most problems result from filler that has been poorly injected.

There will, however, be some soreness and swelling afterwards, but this should reduce in a few days' time.

Facial Fillers

What are our patients looking for in their lip fillers?

  • Reduction of perioral lines, often referred to as smile lines or smokers' lines
  • The "Russian lips" look - or heart-shaped lips
  • Added volume, giving a healthy, hydrated appearance
  • Restored balance, symmetry and proportion
  • Added definition
  • Improved smile
  • Correcting a downturned mouth
  • Strengthening the Cupid's bow

...and how long will results last?

Your body will eventually break down the fillers and your lips will return to normal. This varies from person, but you can expect results to last from 6 months to a year depending on how much filler is used. Top-ups can prolong the effect. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your lips after the procedure, the fillers can be safely dissolved using hyaluronidase.

0.55ml Syringe - £180

0.55mls offers a very soft and natural enhancement. This is ideal for those wanting a very subtle enhancement. Results last on average 4-8 months.

0.7ml Syringe - £210

0.7mls is a great option for those who want a little more than 0.55mls, but feel like 1ml would be too much. This offers a soft and natural looking enhancement. Results last on average 6-12 months.

1ml Syringe - £250

1ml will offer you a soft and natural looking result, but with a slightly more noticeable change in the shape and size of your lips. Results last on average 6-12 months.

Russian Lips - £250

We would use a 1ml syringe of filler to sculpt your lips into the popular Russian lip shape. This allows for sharp cupids bow and vertical lip height, whilst the bottom lip remains soft and pillowed. The Russian shape is best for lip virgins, or those with little filler in their lips.

FAQs

  • What should I expect during treatment?

After your comprehensive consultation, you will be administered with a strong anaesthetic cream.  GD Aesthetics only uses fillers with added anaesthetic in them. There may be a slight discomfort and / or sting felt during the treatment, but this doesn’t last.

  • How long do results last?

The treatment results on average last anywhere from 4-12 months. As a general rule, once you have had your lips treated a couple of times, the longevity does increase. However, this can be reduced by:

    • Exercising excessively
    • The use of sunbeds
    • Smoking
  • What should I expect following treatment?
    • There will be some tenderness, swelling, lumps, bumps and unevenness of results for up to 14 days
    • The majority of this will have settled within 72 hours, but please expect some degree of this for up to 14 days
    • There is a chance of bruising following treatment
  • How much do I need?

0.55mls offers a VERY natural result. 1ml will offer you a natural result, but with a slightly more noticeable change in shape and size. We treat everyone as an individual and will offer our professional advice at the appointment on what we feel would be best for you once we have assessed the size and shape of your lips.

The three most common treatment options are:

    • 0.55mls recommended 3-6 monthly for clients with very small mouths (less filler is less obvious), or those who want to build it up slowly
    • 1ml for the first treatment, then top ups of 0.55mls 3-12 monthly. This will build up the size and the shape of the lips gradually.
    • For those wanting fuller lips, 1ml for the first treatment, then another 1ml for the second, with a minimum of 3 months' gap.
  • What aftercare is required?
    • Drink plenty of water following treatment
    • There is a small chance of bruising
    • Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, and vitamin A/ E/ fish oils for 48 hours either side of the appointment
    • Do not put makeup on for 6 hours
    • Do not exercise for 24 hours afterwards
    • Do not take a flight for 72 hours
    • Avoid excess heat for 7 days - holidays, saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds
